I enjoy writing. I have no illusions about being a literary giant - it is just another way of being talkative. After a quarter century in the investment world I took a welcome breather. I spent a lot of time thinking about what to do next, and enjoyed the absence of monthly investment rankings. And then one day it was time for a change again.

According to Rilke, this should have described my break...
I am the rest between two notes,
which are somehow always in discord

In reality, this rest period was infused with building noise, lots of new ideas being considered and discussed, many coffee meetings, indulgent runs and yoga sessions at times when other people are having investment team meetings, and the occasional guilt trip for not having our household admin in top shape. That was my definition of rest. I am happy to have found a new challenge and am trying not to mourn my mid-morning yoga sessions too much

THE BLOG

The realities of working full time are setting in fast. With our two dogs dancing around with joy…
  • Back to work
Back to work A year ago I posted a blog about my yoga vacation in Mexico. I was well into my break from the corporate world, and as I recall, a little anxious at the total lack of structure in my life, something I eventually grew to love. As I end my first week at a new job, I am feeling a little anxious too. It's been like…
